What up people! I am back state side from Chile. I went for a quick snow ski trip before getting back to school. Check out the view from our apartment below!

Okemo, VT

Chile was great. I got second overall, third in tricks, and third in slalom. I think I skied very well considering  the amount of practice I've had. Now I am ready and super motivated to start skiing for the next season. Check out the wrap up video from Chile: Pretty cool stuff! Check out the rest of the pictures from the University World Champ here.

The United States’ Adam Pickos and the Czech Republic’s Adam Sedlmajer rode their GOODE skis to silver and bronze medals, respectively, at the 2012 FISU World University Water Ski Championships January 15th in Santiago, Chile.

Pickos tied eventual champion Felipe Miranda, who was skiing on his home site, with 3 buoys at 39-1/2 feet off in the finals, but lost to the Chilean in a runoff to finish second.  Sedlmajer was a close third with 2 buoys at 39-1/2 feet off.  Five of the 12 finalists in Men’s slalom skied on GOODEs.

For Team GOODE skier Sedlmajer, the tournament was the first competition in what could be a big year on the world stage.  Currently ranked No. 7 on the IWWF Men’s slalom elite rankings list, he is slated to compete in all three events at the Moomba Masters in March, and for the first time ever compete in Men’s slalom at the U.S. Masters in May.

“I was very excited to ski in this tournament because it gave me a head start going into the 2012 season,” said Sedlmajer, the defending world overall champion.  “I’m really motivated to start skiing again and the extra practice is going to be helpful in the year’s early events.”
